We are excited to announce a vacancy for a Merchandiser in the Textile/Clothing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain regular customer visits.
- Prepare cost estimates for all inquiries.
- Communicate with customers and follow up on purchase orders and print approvals.
- Source fabrics and negotiate pricing.
- Review workbooks for fits and pre-production samples, ensuring timely submission to customers.
- Conduct measurements and quality checks on garments.
- Create artwork and manage print approvals for customers.
- Update laydowns and spreadsheets as needed.
- Develop design tech packs.
- Conduct trend research and create seasonal trend boards.
- Manage the logistics of sample delivery and collection.
- Ensure fit and pre-production samples are processed and included in the sample set.
- Coordinate with graphic designers to prepare print panels for production.
- Collaborate with the production team to order fabrics and labels, and obtain pricing from procurement and stock management.
- Transfer production markers to the production team and provide seal samples to the warehouse manager for dispatch.
- Drive sales efforts to meet budget targets.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the clothing/textile industry (mandatory).
- Relevant higher education credentials.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in creating artwork; hand illustration is a plus.
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of Premier Pro.
- Strong creativity and excellent time management skills.
