Deputy Director- ICT Security and ICT Backend 2025

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (NQF Level 7 as recognized by SAQA) is required, along with 3 to 5 years of experience in a junior management role within the ICT security and governance sector. A valid Code 8/10 driver’s license is essential.

Duties:

Develop and uphold a security governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards. Oversee and report on adherence to ICT governance policies and standards. Execute annual ICT strategic, business, and operational plans, along with their reviews. Perform risk assessments and implement risk management strategies for ICT systems and processes. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize security risks and vulnerabilities, and take action to mitigate them. Create and promote security awareness initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices regarding information security. Conduct analyses of ICT business impact and security risks. Formulate action plans to address security breaches and manage security incidents. Establish security controls, and review and audit all security measures and procedures.

Assess all changes for their potential impact on network and security elements, including the information security policy and security controls. Carry out security and network vulnerability assessments and tests of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP). Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of services in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA). Verify access to services by external partners and suppliers in line with contractual agreements and responsibilities. Implement procedures for the disposal of ICT equipment and software. Ensure encryption and backup solutions for users are in place. Review and manage user account administration. Oversee the Security Operations Centre (SOC). Test the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and the ICT Continuity Site. Ensure that all computer updates are deployed according to established procedures. Monitor the movement of ICT assets. Protect ICT equipment and manage the disposal of ICT assets. Supervise physical server controls.
