Job Overview
We are in search of a skilled IT Network Administrator to become a part of our 24-hour 2nd Line Support team. This position emphasizes advanced troubleshooting, network administration, and the optimization of IT infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and reduce downtime. The ideal candidate will handle escalated IT issues, perform network troubleshooting and deployments, and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support and Troubleshooting in the Office
- Deliver advanced second-line IT support for software, hardware, and network issues that have been escalated from first-line support.
- Identify and resolve intricate IT challenges, ensuring the reliability of systems.
- Serve as a primary IT liaison for internal teams, offering expert guidance and solutions.
- Oversee the monitoring of network and IT infrastructure to proactively identify and address issues.
Deployment and Network Assistance
- Spearhead the setup of PCs, software configurations, and pre-deployment testing.
- Perform network troubleshooting and optimization to guarantee secure and stable connectivity.
- Provide remote support for software and hardware installations at client locations.
- Administer and configure Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Enhance network performance and troubleshoot connectivity problems (e.g., slow speeds, packet loss).
Network Administration and Security
- Oversee and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Manage firewall configurations (Cisco, Fortinet, Mikrotik) and VPN settings.
- Implement cybersecurity protocols to safeguard network integrity and mitigate threats.
- Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds) for real-time performance assessment.
- Assist in data protection, user access management, and adherence to IT security best practices.
Documentation and Process Enhancement
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network and system configurations.
- Record troubleshooting procedures to enrich the knowledge base and enhance incident response efficiency.
- Continuously improve IT operations by reviewing past incidents and proposing enhancements.
Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT Support, Network Administration, or System Administration.
- Demonstrated ability in resolving escalated IT issues (2nd Line Support).
- Comprehensive understanding of network configurations, firewall management, and security protocols.
- Practical experience with Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Windows 10/11, Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), and macOS systems.
- Familiarity with remote IT support tools (RDP, TeamViewer, AnyDesk, PowerShell).
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (MCSA, MCSE) or AWS Certified.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher (CCNP) or Juniper Network Certifications.
- CompTIA Network+ (Networking fundamentals).
- ITIL Foundation (IT Service Management & Incident Response).
- Zabbix Certified Specialist (for monitoring system administration) or equivalent.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Network & System Administration:
- Skilled in configuring and managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Practical experience in LAN/WAN troubleshooting, VLAN configuration, and VPN management.
- Strong understanding of Wi-Fi networks, subnetting, and IP addressing.
- Experience in server administration (Windows Server, Linux).
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for IT automation.
Security & Monitoring
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles (Access Control, MFA, Security Audits).
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, ELK, Graylog) and endpoint security solutions.
- Proficient in firewall management and intrusion detection systems.
- Understanding of patch management and OS updates (WSUS, SCCM, Intune).
Cloud and Remote Assistance
- Proficient in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Administration of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
- Providing support to remote users through VPNs, cloud services, and remote desktop applications.
