Our client, a bespoke software development and digital supply chain organization, is currently looking to hire a Network Administrator to enhance their expanding 24-hour second-line support team located in Lone Hill, Sandton. Duties & Responsibilities
1. Office IT Support and Troubleshooting
- Deliver advanced second-line IT support for software, hardware, and network issues escalated from first-line support.
- Identify and resolve complex IT challenges to ensure system reliability.
- Serve as a primary IT contact for internal teams, offering expert guidance and solutions.
- Oversee the monitoring of network and IT infrastructure to proactively identify and address issues.
2. Deployment and Network Support
- Spearhead PC setup, software configurations, and pre-deployment testing.
- Execute network troubleshooting and optimization to guarantee secure and stable connectivity.
- Provide remote deployment assistance for software and hardware installations at client locations.
- Manage and configure Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Enhance network performance and troubleshoot connectivity problems (e.g., slow speeds, packet loss).
3. Network Administration and Security
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Oversee firewall management (Cisco, Fortinet, Mikrotik) and VPN configurations.
- Implement cybersecurity protocols to safeguard network integrity and mitigate threats.
- Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds) for real-time performance assessment.

Desired Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

- Capability to operate within a 24-hour IT Support framework (rotational shifts may be necessary).
- 3-5 years of experience in IT Support, Network Administration, or System Administration.
- Demonstrated experience in resolving escalated IT issues (2nd Line Support).
- Extensive knowledge of network configurations, firewall management, and security protocols.
- Practical experience with Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, and Microsoft 365 administration.
