Introduction
The position mentioned above will soon be available in Cape Town, reporting directly to the Sales Manager. The primary objective of this role is to provide an effective merchandising service that supports seamless business operations, maintains inventory accuracy, and oversees vehicle upkeep.
Duties & Responsibilities
The main responsibilities will encompass:
- Assessing current stock levels and determining the necessary replenishment quantities as needed.
- Identifying and addressing any missing PI labels promptly.
- Retrieving stock from the storeroom in line with the aforementioned point, prioritizing the use of emergency GAP stock.
- Restocking utilized items from the storeroom and/or emergency supplies as necessary.
- Maintaining clean shelves to ensure a dust-free environment.
- Implementing stock rotation based on FIFO (first-in-first-out) principles as required.
- Scanning products to verify accurate pricing.
- Positioning PI labels to the left of the first SKU in a left-to-right arrangement.
- Labeling promotional items with appropriate flashers.
- Continuously seeking and acting on cross-merchandising opportunities.
- Executing all merchandising tasks as directed by the Company/Principles/Management.
- Ensuring that the storeroom adheres to hygienic standards suitable for storage.
- Confirming that all stock is stored correctly and taking action when necessary.
- Performing stock rotation as needed.
- Communicating with line management regarding:
- Store stock integrity (including damaged or expired items)
- Out-of-stock situations
- Overstock issues
- Safety stock alignment
- Ensuring the correct point of sale materials are displayed.
- Verifying that the appropriate products are on promotion.
- Maintaining the proper flow of stock.
- Replacing any damaged point of sale materials (no damaged POS allowed).
- Ensuring PI labels are affixed to displayed stock.
- Confirming that all displays are correctly positioned.
- Monitoring and reporting on problematic stock levels and replacing items as necessary.
- Confirm the availability of stock at both primary and secondary retail locations.
- Monitor shelves consistently throughout the day and restock as necessary.
- Remove any damaged or expired items from the shelves for collection.
- Ensure products are placed in designated areas and that barcodes are scanned appropriately.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with store policies.
- Implement specific procedures as outlined.
- Maintain communication with line management and act according to their instructions.
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of key products and apply this knowledge daily.
- Familiarize yourself with the maintenance of product ranges and inventory flows.
- Stay updated daily on relevant product information, KAM compliance, and store knowledge.
- Safeguard existing shelf space while negotiating for additional forward share.
- Calculate the forward share for each item in every store.
- Timely communicate promotional activities to store management and inform them about promotional products.
- Relay store feedback to line management. Conduct regular follow-ups before the launch of promotions.
- Adhere to internal and external planograms where applicable and communicate any deviations to line management.
- Make recommendations to line management as necessary. Ensure that vehicles are kept clean and organized at all times.
- Follow the vehicle service schedule as required.
- Check that graphics and decals on Namaqua vehicles are intact and visually appealing, reporting any issues.
- Perform daily checks on oil levels, tire pressure, and other relevant vehicle maintenance before use.

- Must have reliable transportation and/or a valid South African Driver’s License.
